The recreation of the Adams-Enriquez Jr. Fuel dragster is for sale. The chassis is an original Woody Gilmore one made in the late 1960s with early olds rearend and Mickey Thompson Mag third member, with Halibrand rear wheels. Wheelbase is 127 inches. The engine is a one of a kind in drag racing, being a Hilborn Fuel Injeceted 1955 292 cubic inch Hemi Desoto.  The Adams-Enriquez Jr. Fuel car was the first officially recognized unsupercharged car to run over 200 MPH when it set a record at an NHRA points race at Orange County Raceway at 202 MPH in early September of 1968. It was the sole car on the front of the Sept 21st 1968 issue of Drag News in recognition of the milestone. The car was driven by Don Enriquez during the cackle fest at the recent CHRR in Oct. of 2016 at Fomosa Raceway, Bakersfield.  Price is $29,000. For more information Contact Gary Adams at (208) 777-0553.

Whatever happened to the blue Adams & Stewart Fueler? I saw it once at the CHRR yrs ago, but never since then.
I was hanging with Gene when they were trying to push start it at the far end of the pits. Don Enriquez was in the seat.
It had an Industrial Chrys motor with the water ports down low on the front of the block (capped off).

Troy, Gene and LA John Rassmusen ran several FEDs between 1964 and 1977. I do not know which one you saw, but the only one we ran in T/F was in early 1964-mid 1965, the rest were either injected nitro or blown on gas. The original blown nitro T/F car is in Don Garlits museum in Florida.

The price for the Adams & Enriquez Desoto powered Jr. Fueler has been lowered $7,000 to $22,000. For more info call either Gene Adams at (530) 357-5570 or Gary Adams at (208) 777-0553.

Maybe ask Gene which car it was in Bakersfield a few yrs back? (like 8-10).
Might have been a T/G car--Gene would know.
I need to call Hilborn tomorrow anyway,,I'll see what he says.
thank you.

The car I'm referring to *was* the T/F car that Rick drove and yes it's in Garlits' Museum as you said. It's got a pretty much stock, blown 354 Industrial in it.
Don drove it for awhile before Rick, when it had one of Genes unblown 305 Fuel Desotos in it.

If anyone is interested in Gene's original DeSoto Jr. Fuel Motor to put into Gary's recreation of the Adams-Enriquez Jr. Fuel car I have the motor. I might be interested in selling it if the price is right. Yes it has the one off injector that Gene made for the DeSoto while working at Hilborn.

If interested PM me with an offer. Please, No Tire Kickers .

Tom
