The Nostalgia A/Fuel Racers Association is proud to announce the 3rd annual John Shoemaker Memorial Shoot-OutPresented by Sonny Bryant Crankshafts.
This event will be run as part of the NHRA Division 7 Event at Sonoma Raceway July 22-24. With the success of the previous 2 events, NAFRA and Sonoma Raceway in conjunction with NHRA Division 7 are proud to be able to return this event to the schedule.
NAFRA will have 6 cars running in a Qualified Race Styled Shoot Out event.
Currently the cars scheduled to be part of the event include the Blown Alcohol cars of Darrell Waters in the Comstock-Waters entry and the 2 time Shoemaker ShootOut champ Bobby Cottrell piloting the Archibald Racing Air National Guard rail. The Injected Nitro contingent includes the Cowin-Allen car driven by Dennis Allen, the Austin Dinsmore Pro-Max digger driven by Drew Austin, Clayton Zulim in his family run car and the always tough Bates & Adams dragster driven by multi time class Champ Doc Bates.
The NAFRA is proud and honored to be able to get the blessing of Judee Shoemaker for this event, Judee was thrilled that John's legacy would be remembered at a track where he had such success and she was very happy with the reception the event got last year. Several of the racers included in the event have been involved with the Shoemaker family over the years and are thrilled to get to race in his memory again this year.
